England – Stuck in Customs

The Shard

Daily Photo – The Shard

I feel so out-of-touch sometimes! I had not been to London for about 4 or 5 years, and then when I got there I saw this huge building! I had never heard of it being built and I didn’t even know the name. I asked my British friend, “What the hell is THAT!?!” and he said, “It’s The Shard you moron.” Haha man… it was such a surprise, and every time I see it, I still feel that sense of surprise. I really love taking photos of it too… reminds me of the surprise of the first time I saw it.

Incredible London at Sunset

Daily Photo – Incredible London at Sunset

Here’s another one of the images from my 1000 Stories from 1000 Places NFT drop. It sold out in minutes, but they are now available to trade on OpenSea and X2Y2, etc so be sure to check them out.

This particular location in The Shard doesn’t really have a very easy way to take this photo, or at least from the area I found myself in. The direction the sun was facing required some rather difficult window-maneuvering. They don’t really have any windows that face this direction except for one little bit that juts out.

The Night Before Chinese New Year in London

Chinatown in London around midnight. It was the evening before the Chinese New Year and everyone was getting pretty excited. The next night was to be absolute chaos, but this night things still had a nice electricity in the air.

I also made a little video here of what things looked and felt like… sometimes I record little videos here and there to remind myself. I don’t usually publish them because the editing takes so long! So I just kind of save them for myself. It helps when I edit the photo later to remind me of how things felt at the time.

London After the Rain

Daily Photo – London After the Rain

There are several ways to enhance your chances of a city-based image looking good. Night (lights) is one… movement is another… sometimes you get really lucky and it has rained. Here I got lucky and the universe aligned to give me them all. 🙂

50 Beautiful Cities

Hey awesome blog reader… you’ll probably be aware that I’ve been delving into the world of NFTs in the past few months. So far, it’s been both a success and an interesting adventure. That continues today with my 2nd drop on OpenSea. This set of NFTs is based around 50 of my favorite cities spanning all seven continents. There are a wide range of configurations (and prices) available and I’d love it if you’d check them out. If you thought an NFT mixed with physical art was odd last time then how about several NFTs, wrapped in an NFT… mixed with some Aave tokens which should appreciate over time??!

The first drop on OpenSea did better than expected and broke $100,000USD in the first three days. This second one already has a lot of interest as more and more collectors are getting into the NFT world. Jump on in! I’ll make a detailed video soon that talks more about what I’ve learned, mistakes I’ve made, some new ideas, and other interesting stuff from this wild wild west of cryptofun.

Also, if you’re an NFT curious artist, be sure to sign up for Passport where I’ve been sharing videos about my NFT experience so far. If you’re thinking about listing your own, you may find those helpful. Speaking of your own NFTs, I’m now starting to invest back into other projects so if you launch something cool tag me on Twitter and I’ll be sure to take a look. 🙂

The 50 Cities Drop

Here’s a sneak preview of the drop and a little bit about the pricing strategy. I don’t really know if it will work or not. I have very low expectations… so I guess we will see!

Over 7 Dials in London

A Short Film

Here’s something a friend sent me…It’s called “IN SHADOW – A Modern Odyssey.” It’s really well done… maybe a bit disturbing for the faint of heart out there but still awesome.

Daily Photo – Over 7 Dials in London

I’m pretty sure this shot was 100% illegal, but I didn’t really ask first. That’s kind of my style, which only occasionally gets me in trouble. I took this one with that really big DJI drone… it was honestly too big and clunky to carry around, to get out of the box, to launch, etc. These newer smaller ones take just as good photos and they are much more convenient.

Entering the Underground

Daily Photo – Entering the Underground

I think because I grew up without a subway system that I get overly excited in cities that have them. People that grow up in London probably kinda hate the subways. I sort of like the confusion and the challenge of figuring out what the hell is going on down there and how am I supposed to get to where I need to go? Thank god Google Maps helps you out with this stuff… otherwise I would probably take 5x as long to get to the wrong place.

Cool Hotel in London

Daily Photo – Cool Hotel in London

I can’t remember the name of this hotel, as I didn’t stay here. I don’t think I did, at least. It is probably the kind of thing I saw from the street and invited myself in to take photos. When you see these sorts of cool textures, they are kind of screaming out for a photo. It makes me question free will itself.

Passport Sunday Audio Fun!

Today, Passport Members will get to hear the new podcast first. This one is entitled “Molecules I’ve Ingested: Ayahuasca And Hitler.” Yeah so you’ll be getting a full dose of this story! 🙂 Enjoy!

Ayahuasca And Hitler

In this new Podcast called “Molecules I’ve Ingested” you should find something quite unexpected, hilarious, and educational. Each episode features a crazy story about different molecules I’ve tried, from legal to illegal. Mostly the latter. Anyway, episode 3 is: “Aya and Hitler” and this pod will take you on a journey through the underworld to a completely different reality. This is the full story of my first Ayahuasca ceremony (an ancient tradition from the Amazon where you swallow a combination of natural plant materials) and it’s not for the faint of heart. It is quite hilarious, though, in the sheer lunacy of what I experienced in the altered state… you can hear about different things I learned and figured out about myself, and I throw in some references to Hitler just to keep the mood light. Enjoy and Aho!

Daily Photo – Arcade in London

Here’s another cool spot in London that I found by accident on my walkin’ around day. I try to set aside a few days where I have no responsibilities and I can just get lost. I now live in a little town in the south of New Zealand, so it’s always exciting for me to get to big cities like this. I don’t think I could live there with all that energy all the time, but it is nice to visit.
