Editing Photos from the Singapore Bar

Editing Older Mobile Phone Photos

I’ve been having a great time going through older photos I got on my mobile phone and processing them in Aurora. If you’re a Passport Member, then today, you’ll get to see me edit these two previous photos from Singapore. I went a little extreme with the HDR, but I was just kinda in that mood!

And now on to the video…

Editing Photos from the Singapore Bar

I just can’t remember the name of this place, but I guess it doesn’t really matter. If I wasn’t so lazy, I would do a Google reverse image search to find it, which I have to now from time to time because my memory fails. Either way, you’ll see how I use these JPGs in Aurora along with different presets to create different looks from two different angles of the same place.

Daily Photo – Simon’s Headshot

My friend Simon Lee asked me to take a headshot for him… he happened to be there at the party, so I snapped this quick one of him. Btw, if you want to see more about him, check out his yoga website. If you ever have the chance to practice with him, I highly recommend it. He actually made me cry during one of his Yin classes! And it wasn’t because he was making fun of me because I am not very flexible!

Well, today Passport Sunday Members are in for a real treat because I give a little behind-the-scenes and how-to of my latest fractal.

The Making Of

Today’s video is a little bit long, but there is a lot of good information in there about the creative process and a little bit about starting up a new business. I don’t know if anyone else will like using this tool as much as I do, but I wanted to share it nonetheless! Oh, and it’s a free tool, so if you grab it and create something please do share. ๐Ÿ™‚ Enjoy!

Daily Photo – A Still Frame from Machine Elf 83

Creating these animations almost has nothing to do with Photography other than the desire to create a really cool frame. It reminds me a lot of taking photos of complex architecture… except you get to build your own. As long as I know I have a good frame, I’m sure the rest of it is gonna be amazing.

Party Pictures Before and After

If you’re a Passport Member then today you’ll see a lot of photos I just took about 24 hours ago! You’ll see the before and after photos from the event and see a little bit more about my techniques.

The Best Photos from the Boat Party

If you all follow my silly Instagram stories, then you’ll get to see some of the frivolity behind the scenes… In today’s video, I’ll show you about a dozen new photos and the reasoning behind the editing. In some cases, it’s a bit over the top, but that is cool too ๐Ÿ™‚

Late for The Book of Mormon in London

Passport Sunday

Well, it’s another Sunday and that means we have another new video for Passport Members. Today’s was a rather challenging edit… but a lot of fun. You can see the finished result in today’s Daily Photo. Passport members get a little bonus section where they can see the final edit.

Attending the Theatre in London

This was a very fun and somewhat challenging edit. You’ll see, like any good story, this one has some twists and turns. Enjoy!

Daily Photo – Late for The Book of Mormon in London

Unfortunately, I was so into taking photos that I missed the first act of The Book of Mormon in London. I feel bad because I was going with my friend Simon and he was patiently waiting while I was futzing around taking photos… but, at least I ended up with a photo that I liked, even if we did have to sit out the first act. By the way, I can’t recommend The Book of Mormon more!

Daily Photo – Driving through the Lindis Valley

New Zealand is full of beautiful roads, and this one is probably in the top 10 as far as scenery. There is this crossing of the Southern Alps right in the middle of the South Island that has a look you don’t see anywhere else in NZ (that I know of). It’s a mix of barren and beautiful, and the road flows beautifully from the west coast to the east coast.

I think this is actually a tiny restaurant. It looks a lot bigger than it actually is because how close up I got the camera. I also processed the heck out of it to make it pop!

Ancient Future Festival in Glenorchy

Passport Sunday Fun

If you are a Passport Member then today you’ll get an advanced look at one of my newest creations. It’s just halfway done, but you’ll get a sense of it nonetheless a find out more about the creation process.

Machine Elf 48 in the Works

So here is my latest one that is still being created. I’ve decided to make this one pretty much 100% symmetrical. It’s actually a bit more difficult than it looks. The music is not final, but I do quite like it. I build these in 10-second intervals – that is – since its 30 frames per second, I choose what the scene looks like every 300 frames and it extrapolates in between. Whenever I see a 10-second span that doesn’t quite look right, I go back in and make some adjustments to the math for that particular keyframe.

Also, if you missed the Passport newsletter last week keep an eye on the eBooks download section of your account for my latest book being added in the coming days. ๐Ÿ™‚

Daily Photo – Ancient Future Festival in Glenorchy

I’m headed off for a fun festival on an island over there called Ancient Future. Since don’t have any active cases of Covid19 here in New Zealand, everyone is out and ready to enjoy the summer solstice (the longest day of the year) in just a few days. I didn’t get to go to Burning Man for year 11 in a row, so the chance to get to a big festival where no one is wearing facemasks sounds pretty radical. Why not? The whole event is sold out, so I’ll be one of the 300 hippies out there. Even better, I’ll be taking my son Ethan. I took him to the burn about 7 years ago, so this will be another fun experience for him. I’ll be out doing everything from taking photos doing yoga, hiking, listening to music, dancing, reading, attending workshops, and seeing friends. It’ll be epic.

Singing Circle in Papua New Guinea

Passport Sunday Fun

Today, I have a new video that shows off the new Luminar AI if you are a Passport Member! You can get it now via that link for a pre-order and it’s released in just a few days. I think you are really going to like it!

Sunday: Mountains on top of Mountains

Today’s video will entertain you with a quick tour-de-force all around the new Luminar AI. I start off with a rather silly example of how you can add mountains on top of mountains… Hey, I would not doctor a photo quite that much, but it’s kind of cool how easy it is. Besides that quirky feature, I show off a lot more that are more practical.

Daily Photo – Singing Circle in Papua New Guinea

While at the festival, we would visit 20-30 different tribes. They all had their unique outfits and singing patterns. There’s a big competition with which tribes have the coolest outfits and the coolest song & dance routine. I think the contest is pretty unofficial, but it’s still quite competitve. In fact, it can turn quite violent and the military has to come in with tear gas and stuff. When that happens, it’s time to leave the scene quickly!

Passport Sunday Burning Man Story About Acid and the Asian Stalker?

If you’re one of our awesome Passport Member then you’ll get to hear the new (still secret) podcast where I tell stories about different molecules I’ve ingested. Today’s story will take you on quite a wild ride… I’ve survived and lived to tell the tale!

Episode 2 of “Molecules I’ve Ingested”

Okay, well, jump on board for the new episode… I’ll probably release this to the wider world starting next week or so, but I thought you might want to have an early listen. I may add a few more comments from Hugh Howey and others, but this is a fun early version for you. ๐Ÿ™‚
