Pena Palace from the Air

TV Interview in Toronto

Here’s a fun video I recently did while on tour!

Daily Photo – Pena Palace from the Air

This is one of the coolest castles in the world. I actually don’t know if it qualifies as a “castle,” but I like to think of it as one. I don’t know if the Disney castle was inspired by this one or not, but I wouldn’t be surprised.
This was taken with a quadcopter and quite a difficult shot… I had the quad almost three miles away from me, and I kept losing the transmission signal… so there was a lot of guesswork and luck in play!

Hong Kong Forever

Dennis Highlights

Some of you may know that one of my favorite shows is “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” – and here is a funny Youtube video I found that has some Dennis highlights.

Daily Photo – Hong Kong Forever

I’ve been taking more and more photos when I don’t show the horizon. So many cities are recognizable by their skyline… so sometimes I like to obscure that information. Hong Kong is also known for this particular shape of building. I think in the 70’s and 80’s that the Chinese government built about 100 buildings of this same design and crammed them all together like this.

Inside the Cologne Cathedral

Hilarious video with terrible voice acting

Look at these “highlights” – haha I could not stop laughing.

Daily Photo – Inside the Cologne Cathedral

I was so surprised to walk into this cathedral at night and see this! They were showing images from deep space and playing all this crazy minimalist music… something like Phillip Glass. I sat in here for about half an hour just kind of staring at this giant movie screen. It’s definitely one of my best church experiences! 🙂

Exploring Hong Kong

Soul Anarchist Podcast

Here’s a really fun podcast I did that revolves around Burning Man with the Soul Anarchist, Paul Duane!

Daily Photo – Exploring Hong Kong

One day my friend Simon started showing lots of cool secret spots all over Hong Kong. Some of these places were really hard to get into… especially because it was illegal. I don’t know why I keep engaging in illegal activities in China. It doesn’t really seem that smart, now that I think about it!

The Three Sisters in Fog

Burning Man Bike Stolen and Taken to New Zealand!

This is a great story about my friend (and camp-mate at Walter!) who had his bike stolen. Read the story here!

Daily Photo – The Three Sisters in Fog

Here’s a new photo I recently finished from Shanghai, China. I woke up early to get a sunrise photo, but it was too smoggy/foggy for any good light. I figured, well, as long as I am awake, I should try to be productive… I walked around for a while and the only interesting thing I could see was this… so I launched the quad to get a photo of three of the tallest buildings in China.

Montreal from Above

Passport Sunday 360 Video

When I was in Canada a few weeks ago, I took time to make a 360 video for you awesome Passport Sunday members. It was a beautiful spot up there to capture the city from above. In an upcoming video next Sunday, you get to see me process it!

Daily Photo – Montreal from Above

What a great city! It was my first time to Montreal and I’ve always heard such wonderful things about it! My very first international trip was to France with my dad, and that made my sort of a francophile for life. I was surprised at how deeply ingrained the French culture is here in Montreal. I thought it would just be a “light dusting” of French, but I think I heard more French than English!

Close-Up of the Harbor

It’s Podcast Time Again…

There are now 8 episodes of my audio podcast available on your favourite streaming services (iTunes, Stitcher, Spotify or in some regions Google Play).

In this weeks episode with Doug Moores, he and I are walking along the coast on the North Island of New Zealand near Te Arai. Doug does many things… podcaster, healer, yogi, builder, and well, you name it! Our talk spans from everything consciousness to psychedelics!

This guy is one of my favorites… and a great set too.

Daily Photo – Close-Up of the Harbor

Remember yesterday’s shot of the harbor, this is a close-up on another evening. You’ll notice how different and dramatic the skies are each evening. This is one thing that I like most about taking photos on islands… you almost always get incredible skies as the sun is going down. That only seems to happen about 20% of the time here in the mountains.

Fiji has a lot of beautiful places, but this one may be the best! I was lucky enough to stay here for about a week and explore the whole resort. Over there on the left, you can see the pool. What you can’t see is how absolutely gigantic it is! They say it’s the 2nd biggest pool in the Pacific Ocean.

Alley in Hong Kong

New Two-Propeller Drone flies twice as long

Check out this new concept.

Daily Photo – Alley in Hong Kong

This was my first time to visit this radical area of Hong Kong. I think I had maybe been here ten years before, but that was in the middle of the daytime in the sweltering heat. You can only hang out in Chinese fish markets in blazing heat for a short time before you’ve had enough. I had never thought about how beautiful it would be at dusk with all the colorful lights spilling into the streets, though.

Tina Guo on Stage

Who is Tina Guo

She’s a kick-ass cellist and an awesome person, as you can see in this video:

Daily Photo – Tina Guo on Stage

Haha… I usually don’t take photos like this… it’s quite hyper-sexualized, if you didn’t notice. I’m actually friends with her and I took photos of her and Hans Zimmer and the rest of the band at two of their concerts. I wasn’t so sure about sharing THIS particular photo. I liked it a lot… but, well you know how people can be super-judgy. I didn’t care about them – mostly Tina. Well, it turned out that she LOVED it and re-shared it on her account. So, that made me feel a lot better and a bit silly about having so much self-doubt!
