Here are 10 photos +1 bonus at the rallies near the Trump event in Orlando, Florida the other day. Hey, I live in New Zealand, so I don’t have a dog in the hunt. All the streets were shut down, so I decided to visit both rallies; there are five photos from each rally… Pro and Anti. I’ll alternate the photos Anti/Pro. And the bonus photo is of the awesome police in the rain, standing ready to deal with Florida Man. I don’t know if you know about Florida Man, but if you do, you do.
Anti-Trump #1 – A giant inflatable baby Trump. I don’t know if it was the same one from London or a replicate.
Pro-Trump #1: This keeps your car cool when the sun is out. This child with an NRA shirt said one guy offered him $200 for it. He said no, but if I gave him $300, we had a deal!
Anti-Trump #2: This guy was dancing while the Mariachi band from Mexico was playing a tune.
Pro-Trump #2: That guy has two thumbs.
Anti-Trump #3: She jumped the wall, I suppose!
Pro-Trump #3: I asked this kid on my Insta story was his real hair and he said, “I wish!”
Anti-Trump #4 Some fun bedtime stories for the kids…
Pro-Trump #4: The line to get into the arena was several miles long… people traveled from all over to get here.
Anti-Trump #5: Meanwhile, at the other rally.
Pro-Trump #5: Yes, there was a scattering of LGBTTQQIAAP peeps in line to get into the arena to cheer for Trump.
Bonus Photo: Policemen stand by in the rain, ready to deal with Florida Man.
These are pretty fun shows, eh? Or do you hate them? It’s okay, be honest, I can take criticism really well! 🙂 Once again, we rapid-fire critique 10 different photos… this time, it’s all portraits!
Daily Photo – A Quiet Night in Portofino
I can’t tell a lie… this isn’t Portofino. It’s actually Universal Studios, so I feel a little weird about taking photos of “fake” places like this. But, as fake as it is, it’s still pretty beautiful! I don’t actually know if you can get in those boats or not. Probably not. But I’d like to see them stop me.
I know the Animal Kingdom is soon (maybe already?) opening the new World of Avatar section of the park. I really want to go see it… the Disney team there invited me to come and check it out, but I’m too busy with this Europe Tour! Oh well! I’ll try to get there with the family before the year is done and dusted! 🙂
Daily Photo – Magic Kingdom
Wow was it ever crowded here on New Year’s Eve Eve! Actually here’s a hot Disney tip if you go for New Years. Well, first tip would be to NOT go for New Years because it’s soooo crowded. But, if you do go, then you should go to the Magic Kingdom park on December 30, because they have the same fireworks show as they do on New Year’s at midnight… then, you can go to Epcot for the actual New Year’s at midnight… there’s a lot more room to find good places to shoot at Epcot because it’s so huge.
I recorded a special behind-the-scenes while here for Passport members. it shows a bit more about how and why I composed the shot. I ended up with two different compositions I really liked, and this is one of them.
Animal Kingdom Tip
And here’s the behind-the-scenes for the photo below – enjoy! 🙂
Here’s a photo I got smack dab in the middle of the day while at Animal Kingdom at Disney. What a day! My son and daughter had just joined me for that crazy ride there. It’s one of my favorite roller coasters in the world. It’s WAY too scary for Isabella, but Scarlett absolutely loved it! Not long after this, we went to go to The Lion King where the girls were selected to come dance with the troupe! It was another great family day at Disney! 🙂
If you know any, be sure to share! I share this one below…
I have a lot of Disney shots here on the site. Just be sure to click the “Disney” category that is attached to this post to see them all! 🙂
Daily Photo – Beautiful Cinderella’s Castle at Sunset
This is a great place to watch the sunset. Not that your kids will be interested in watching the sunset or anything, but maybe you will. Give them a bunch of money and ice cream and tell them you’ll be back in an hour. That’s what I do! 🙂
There’s only a few places around the castle where you get a reflection shot. This is one of them. If you move around near the bridge in Tomorrow Land, you can go into the exits of the Lilo & Stitch ride to find this secret spot!
This is a good question! Is Disney’s China more picturesque than the actual China? Yes and no are my answers. There is certainly an undefinable “authenticity” to the actual China that I can’t pull out of al the imagineer’s wranglings at Disney. It’s kind of hard to explain, but maybe you know what I mean! 🙂
Daily Photo – Ancient China
No it isn’t!
This was shot at Disneyworld at Epcot center. Want to know a great Disney shooting trick? They won’t like me telling you this… but I’ll tell you anyway. The Disney people are very nice to me, but that won’t stop me from being totally honest with tricky advice!
The advice is this. Stay at a resort (this gives you extra hours), and be sure to go to Epcot on their extra-hours night. While there, get the the point as far away from possible as the exit gate at close time. Then you can slowly take your time and work your way back. You’ll see no tourists or anyone! I saw this place almost totally alone… so cool!
I don’t understand why the Cirque du Soliel people are so militant about not letting you take photos. I really don’t get what the big deal is. I assume they are worried that someone will steal their ideas? I understand no flashes, but a good camera doesn’t need a flash to take a photo. Maybe they are trying to force people to enjoy it without using cameras? Or maybe if everyone does it, they will hold up cameras over their heads and block everyone? I don’t know… but it is quite annoying!
Daily Photo – Cirque du Soliel in Downtown Disney
Here’s the awesome tent they built just for Cirque du Soliel. I’ve always liked this architecture design. It looks both temporary and permanent.
This was my son’s very first Cirque du Soliel and he loved it. Yes, he was a little freaked out by parts of it, but I think everyone is! 🙂
This is the German area of Epcot at DisneyWorld. I know it’s always a bit disappointing when I say this, isn’t it? I wish it was all real too… but, it is close-enough to real, so that’s not so bad. It’s like getting a pretty good milkshake or an above-average massage. No one complains about these things. And I didn’t complain while here either… the architecture and feel was pretty cool… the food was good… no bitter-looking German tourists… a pretty good combo! 🙂
