Peak Autumn
Daily Photo – Peak Autumn
It’s pretty much peak Autumn here in NZ. Normally at this time we’d be gearing up for a workshop but Covid put a stop to that for a couple of years. Things are looking good for next year though and I have a bunch of people all signed up. If you’d like to join them then head over here to find out more! Oh, and if you own one of my NFTs you get a 25% discount on the workshop!
Small Car Exploration

Next time you are in a big city, hunt down one of these small car tour things. They are great resources for doing some quick exploration if you’ve never been there before. I’ve done them now in a few places such as here in Rome and also in London (which used old Mini Coopers). Sure, it’s not the most luxurious ride you’ll ever have had but you always find out some great nuggets of info from the company running them and you get to find little places you’d not otherwise see.
Sunset on the Beach in Muscat
Daily Photo – Sunset on the Beach in Muscat
When we were in Muscat I went out exploring along the beach with my camera for a while as sunset approached. It was a comfortable 70f/20c as it doesn’t really get cold there in January… or at all. From what I remember it doesn’t really rain there either. I sort of get what that’s like having lived in Texas, but it feels like a whole different world compared to NZ with its ever-changing weather!
Abu Dhabi, UAE
I arrived at the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque just before the sun was setting and it was absolutely majestic. To get these kind of shots, I need to use a tripod, and I often get in trouble for using my tripod, so I was a bit worried they were going to kick me out. I set it up really quickly and in a sneaky way (I find myself being sneaky in religious places far too often!), and then one of the security guards came over. I was thinking… uh oh. But I was wrong, and he was the nicest guy in the world. He even asked me some nerdy tech stuff about my camera, and he said I was free to roam for the rest of the day.
