The Odd Number Theory

Daily Photo – The Odd Number Theory

I don’t remember exactly where I heard this theory, but I kind of like it. I believe it had to do with street photography and capturing an interesting number of people. For some reason, an odd number looks more interesting than an even number. I don’t know why. I don’t even know if I believe it…but maybe. I try to do it with objects too… apart from here, where there are 6 cool trees…

Reflections in Sarasota

A Fun Jason Silva Collaboration

I met this guy years ago when we were speaking at a Google conference. We have the same agent (Hi Amie!) and she suggested we get together. It was great fun! We’ve stayed friends ever since, and this is the first time we collaborated on a project. Enjoy!

Daily Photo – Reflections in Sarasota

This was taken atop a rooftop bar there in Sarasota, Florida. It was the only rooftop bar, but it afforded great views. I took a lot of photos up here, but this was one of my favorites where I zoomed in quite a bit on this mirrored building. This is one of those shots I like because it comes out looking fairly confusing!

One of the best beaches in the USA

Using TripAdvisor to find locations

I actually highly recommend this! I think that a while ago people were gaming the system a bit, but now I believe it is quite authentic. It’s definitely a great source to read reviews and get ratings. Before I go anywhere, I often check TripAdvisor just to get some honest reviews and recommendations.

Daily Photo – One of the best beaches in the USA

This is a photo of Siesta Key in Sarasota. Apparently, this was voted the #1 Beach in the USA a few years ago. So, I had to go see it! It was a little cold when I went here in the middle of winter, but it was still very pretty. What makes it unique is the incredible white powdery sand. I think it’s all ground quartz. It made for quite an unusual sensation between my toes! This is a public beach, but it was absolutely massive. I was very impressed and would like to go back at the height of summer.
