Social Media Mastery

The coast of Scotland has all sorts of treasures indeed! If you tune in for my Geology Rock Insta Stories that only please 3% of my demographic, then you’ll get to hear a little about these… Even that 3% was complaining about too much igneous-talk…enough granite already, Trey… so let’s go with some sedimentary-talk. You know, mix it up, as I continue to ignore the bulk of my demo in my amazing social media strategy of doing what I think is interesting rather than what will get the most likes.
Beautiful Dunrobin

On my long drive to the north of Scotland, I took many stops along the way for little hikes and meditations… here was on along the road back to Glasgow, not far from Brora. As an aside, this is one of those images that I thought was ok but when I shared it on social media people LOVED it… like REALLY LOVED it. Much more than I had expected. That’s nice but also further proof that I’m regularly surprised by what connects with people and what doesn’t. Fun!
THE Castle
Ahhh yes, the amazing Edinburgh castle! This is the spot I’ve always wanted to visit in Scotland… well, there are MANY places I was excited to visit. I’m pretty well-traveled, but Scotland has always evaded me! You evaded me no more, you awesome country, you!
Now, I’ve been posting some extremely ridiculous and probably inappropriate and mildly offensive videos to my Instagram stories and assembling the funniest ones atop my profile in “Funny Scotland,” should you want to be a fly on the wall of some of these adventures. I’m not afraid to post offensive stuff. People gotta develop thick skins nowadays, hey?
Where to Start?
Daily Photo – Where to Start?
So I realise I’ve not really posted about Scotland yet. Just the one post I think… it’s become a little bit of a mental block, I think. Not in a bad way, just in the way that it was such an amazing experience/trip that I’m not really sure where to begin. So I guess I’ll just throw a random shot in here and we’ll start with that! This was up in the northwest on one of the days I was solo road-tripping, just exploring and seeing where the day took me. As far as photography goes, it was just amazing view after amazing view. Stop anywhere, throw the quad up in the air and BAM, epic scenery.
Scotland!
Daily Photo – Edinburgh!
What a month and a bit. I’ve had a blast exploring here and have so much to share. Today I fly out from Edinburgh and can’t wait to share all of the images and thoughts with you. For now, this was my first image from the trip… exploring the magical streets of Edinburgh at night shortly after arriving.
The Shard
Daily Photo – The Shard
I feel so out-of-touch sometimes! I had not been to London for about 4 or 5 years, and then when I got there I saw this huge building! I had never heard of it being built and I didn’t even know the name. I asked my British friend, “What the hell is THAT!?!” and he said, “It’s The Shard you moron.” Haha man… it was such a surprise, and every time I see it, I still feel that sense of surprise. I really love taking photos of it too… reminds me of the surprise of the first time I saw it.

Here’s another one of the images from my 1000 Stories from 1000 Places NFT drop. It sold out in minutes, but they are now available to trade on OpenSea and X2Y2, etc so be sure to check them out.
This particular location in The Shard doesn’t really have a very easy way to take this photo, or at least from the area I found myself in. The direction the sun was facing required some rather difficult window-maneuvering. They don’t really have any windows that face this direction except for one little bit that juts out.

Chinatown in London around midnight. It was the evening before the Chinese New Year and everyone was getting pretty excited. The next night was to be absolute chaos, but this night things still had a nice electricity in the air.
I also made a little video here of what things looked and felt like… sometimes I record little videos here and there to remind myself. I don’t usually publish them because the editing takes so long! So I just kind of save them for myself. It helps when I edit the photo later to remind me of how things felt at the time.
