I’m excited to release these really fun and beautiful presets for you! I’ve been squirreling them away as I journeyed around the world over the past couple of years so they work in all sorts of scenarios, as you’ll see in the sample photos and videos.

There’s a mix for color and black and white situations and they’re super easy to apply. Just a few clicks. There’s also a slick slider in Luminar and Lightroom that allows you to adjust the extremity of the filter if you find it is a little overkill. Keep in mind though, that not all presets look good on all images. In fact, some will make some of your images look terrible… then there are others that love to be combined with a couple of others*. Poly presets if you will. We’re inclusive here, no judgement. Actually, experimentation is encouraged. Feel free to get hands on and tweak after you apply them.

(*I’m looking at you Mister Absorbent and Backseat Cougar… oh, did I mention that my preset names don’t exactly confirm to the norms?)

It was actually a 50/50 split of Lightroom and Luminar! I haven’t released any in over two years, so I’m going through the process now of re-organizing and packaging them. Luminar is a little clumsy for installing them. Anyhoo… we’re on the case talking to Skylum to solve that! Here’s one I just finished editing with one of the new presets!

The amazing team over at Origin PC custom-built me a new PC! I was soooooo excited to receive it! Here is my rather random and silly unboxing video. It’s probably the WORST unboxing video they have ever asked someone to do. But, nevertheless, I finally got it done and I absolutely love the system.

This machine is screamingly fast, and it was a great move to put my main Lightroom library on here. It’s great to have my ~800K photos all in one place with no external drives (except for backups). And the speed… the SPEED! It’s so fast that not even the sloppy programming of Adobe Lightroom can slow it down!

Movie Night Presets

Today’s photo is a good example from my new Lightroom Presets! Every night I was there, it was very rainy, so that gave me a good excuse to go out and explore. I spent most of my time in Shinjuku, mostly because of all the ambient light and Blade-Runner like signs.

One thing, in particular, I’ve noticed about Tokyo is their penchant for opaque umbrellas. I think this actually makes a lot of sense because the umbrella holder can see where they are going. I, myself, would also use an umbrella of this sort if I was not so busy taking photos of people using these sorts of umbrellas.
