It feels like time for another trip to Japan. Last time (was it last time? Damn Covid messing up the timeline recollection) I went out and started to really explore outside the main population centres. It was great fun, so a bit more of that on the cards I think.
Here’s one from a fun day in Antarctica where I spent the day with thousands of penguins. You can see a few of them that ventured away from their “nest” (basically a circle of rocks) down onto the ice flows to go fishing. Even though I thought the penguins were cute, I was kind of hoping for an Orca to come up so I could see a takedown.
Next up as I wander through my past lives camera wise was the first refresh of the Sony a7R range, the a7R Mark 2 which joined me, early on in its time for a trip to a wintery Japan.

Waiheke Island is full of lovely, peaceful areas with calming views. On this day, nature decided to ramp things up to another level and throw in a double rainbow just for fun. Thanks nature!

After a while shooting hobbit holes, you’d think I’d become a little tired of the subject-matter, but I never have! Each little hobbit hole (there are 44 I think at Hobbiton?) is perfectly adorned and unique in its own way. Plus, they all change a little with every season so that adds some nice variety whenever I go there.
