Plotagraphs

It’s been a while since the Plotagraph website disappeared from the web. I guess it’s gone for good now. Shame. It was fun while it lasted!

So Much Cleanup

Daily Photo – So Much Cleanup

This was taken on a short chopper flight near Queenstown a bunch of years ago. I liked the shot but man, did it take an age to finish off. There was a lot of moisture in the air, and it was all over the window of the helicopter. I tried to position my lens with minimal droplet cover but loads of it still showed up. So, it was off to Photoshop for some significant, time consuming, clean up.

Somewhere out There

Daily Photo – Somewhere Out There…

… is my 360 camera. Lost it in NYC last time I was there. I say lost it… it’s complicated but my intentions were good.

Queenstown Aiutumn

Queenstown, New Zealand in the Autumn… well this is kinda true and kinda not because these are all made with AI. I often use the phrase “in the style of Trey Ratcliff” at the end of the prompts. It’s so fun! Believe it or not, I do actually still take actual photos 🙂 See more from this series over on my Facebook.

Here’s a photo I got on the way to Mt. Cook/Aoraki, which is only a few hours from Queenstown. It’s one of the new stops we’re gonna do on the upcoming NZ Photo Adventure workshop happening soon!

A Smile

Daily Photo – A Smile

There are so many art pieces at Burning Man that inspire me, and this was a simple and beautiful one with a serene smile.

A Sunday in Iceland

Daily Photo – A Sunday in Iceland

This is a really nice little church by a graveyard in the south of Iceland. It was pretty much out in the middle of nowhere, as you can tell. The gate with the cross on the top leads to a tiny and lonely graveyard.

Dusseldorf Architecture

Daily Photo – Dusseldorf Architecture

I love these creative buildings where architects push things into all sorts of weird shapes that don’t seem like they should stand.

Yellowstone Fog

Daily Photo – Yellowstone Fog

At one point when driving through Yellowstone, I randomly got out of the car and started walking right into the forest on the edge of the road. There was a thick fog, and the morning sun was low, creating an unexpected box of light. I kept walking and walking until I found this area. It just felt right for whatever reason, so I set up to create this in HDR.

This is a great cookbook…

… it’s even better than that rather amazing cover photo. 😉 It’s a photo I took from my favorite yoga & meditation retreat called Aro Ha @Aroharetreats. The book, Plant to Plate, contains a bunch of pictures of high-functioning hippies pulling plants out of the ground and then immediately sitting down and putting them right on a plate before eating them. They don’t even use utensils. No need. The plates are made from hemp by a group of free-range bonobos.
