I’ve gotten really into this guy “Max Cooper” β check him out! π
Daily Photo – Flying over Waiheke
What a pretty island! I’ve heard about how pretty it is but really had no idea it was so “varied.” There are so many of these peninsulas and fingers out into the ocean… there must be over a hundred of them, and they all seem to have perfect little houses scattered here and there and everywhere.
I’ve had a blast designing and building these bags with Peak Design. Here’s a new update from the team:
Two million dollars! We hit that milestone on Sunday afternoon and we couldn’t be more stoked. Over the past week the campaign has really picked up some steam…we’re now seeing nearly three times as many new backers every day as we did 2 weeks ago. You guys must be telling your friends or something. Absolutely incredible. Thank you, backers, for your continued support and sharing.
Sit down with Peak Design founder Peter Dering and head designer Art Viger as they take you through an up-close, personal, dare we say sensual journey in and around the Everyday Backpack:
On a personal note, I want you to notice how smooth Art Viger’s skin is in this video. It’s incredible. Smooth Dolphin in the Water!
Daily Photo – White Church from Above
When we were on Waiheke Island, we took a fun Heletranz chopper ride over to visit the Man o’ War winery. This is the cute little church we saw upon landing. After we landed, we got out the quadcopter and then started seeing everything again from the air!
I’ll start posting more of my abstract work in our Facebook Group at Becoming an Artist Facebook Group. Be sure to join that group and share your art too! π
Daily Photo – A Study
Here’s a photo I almost didn’t publish. I actually take a ton of photos like this. Little studies in light and texture with some surprises here and there. It’s quite abstract, and I don’t publish a lot of that. This is part of a unique winery on Waiheke Island.
On my first day on Waiheke, I was lucky enough to see a double-rainbow. This whole island was just amazing… and I definitely get a bit of a Teletubbies feeling while there. I got a ton of photos while there… and they all more or less look like this one! We had great weather the whole time too… Although from what I hear, that place almost always has great weather. I want to go back soon! π
Hey look, let’s say you’re one of those people out there that is anti-Game of Thrones or you feel like you’re way too behind. Just challenge yourself and make yourself a bit uncomfy and give it a whirl. The best thing is now that there are so many out, you can binge-watch it… binge-watching it is actually the best way to follow the show! π
Daily Photo – Stunning Waiheke from Above
I love this place so much and I really want to go back! How beautiful is this from the sky? It’s beautiful enough from the ground, but once you get up into the air, things get even more dynamic and colorful. The day I flew was a pretty gusty day, but the quad was still able to take a set of auto-bracketed photos that were fairly well aligned.
I can’t believe it took me four years in New Zealand to get to this spot! I got a ton of photos, though, and I’ll be sharing them all here on the blog soon!
Daily Photo – An Art Stay with Gabriella Lewenz
Now here’s an amazing idea. When I was on Waiheke Island, I went to go visit the home of Claude and Gabriella Lewenz. He designs villages and she’s a fine art painter. This is a picture of part of their amazing home there. Anyway, they’ve just launched this new concept of an “Art Stay” where you can go stay with them for a few days. While there, you commission an art piece from Gabriella and she begins making it while you are there. What a fun idea…you’ll love it! I wanna go! See more at http://artstay.com/
