Each time I’ve visited China one of the highlights has been to head out and wander randomly. On this day I found myself in some sort of park where there were little bits of cool architecture dotted around. I particularly loved the green and red mix under the sun as I passed by this building.
I spend a lot of time in San Francisco trying to work out how to get into the higher buildings, sometimes it’s as easy as just booking a hotel room, usually though it involves a lot of persuasion with the staff in a lobby. Always a fun challenge. 🙂
I love it when designers get to go a bit nuts around escalators. I don’t mind if it’s some sort of classic architecture vibe, or something wild like this one in Tokyo. So much fun and way better than your average staircase!
When I wasn’t getting arrested in Beijing, I spent some time exploring some of the taller buildings looking for interesting views. Here is a little chunk of the city that I found one night… not sure where it was… maybe I should look for clues in the image…
There is a cool tree that grows out of the water here. When things are calm, sometimes there are these nice little ripples that come by while the ducks swim around… serene.

Here’s a nice stop that a lot of people miss along the way to Milford Sound. I got up early one morning and went between those two bridges just before you get to the sound and hiked along the river to find this spot. That’s Mitre Peak (Rahotu) there in the background.
