Tracking Male Lions in Botswana – Stuck in Customs

Tracking Male Lions in Botswana

New Tutorial in the Works!

Now that I’m back in the studio in New Zealand after 4-5 months on the road, I’m getting organized! One of my to-do items is to put together a new tutorial I recorded while in Africa. If you’re a Passport Member then you’ll see a few sneak peeks along the way!

Daily Photo – Tracking Male Lions in Botswana

I didn’t see a male lion until my fourth trip to Africa! I don’t know why, but I kind of thought these guys would be all over the place. They’re not endangered or anything, but they are quite elusive. Male lions are not as elusive as leopards or wild dogs, but they are quite hard to find. I had this amazing guide and he didn’t mind me asking dumb questions. It turns out that male lions are hard to find because they basically sleep most of the day in tall grass, do nothing to help the kids, and, when they’re not being lazy, they are thinking about being lazy. We came across a few males… and one took a break from his laziness to climb on top of this log to appear to be rather majestic.
