Our recent Springtime Photo Adventure

Five full days of epic photos, belly laughs, fresh food and loads of fine wine!

This past week we held our Spring (October) workshop here in Queenstown. People from all around the world came over to spend a week together with me taking photos around the South Island!

If you're interested in joining me on a future photo adventure then be sure to watch these newsletters. We always announce new workshops here first! Or you can visit our workshop page anytime to see a complete list. Registration for the next New Zealand Photo Adventure is now open, so act fast before it fills up.

We visited a ton of amazing locations but I only flew the quadcopter in a few spots. Between taking photos, I set the quad into video mode, here are some quick aerial vignettes I was able to capture.

This workshop we had perfect shooting weather and of course an awesome group of people to share it all with! We all took a load of photos and I can tell you this, I haven't even begun to make a processing-dent in mine. Here are a few of my favorites from the week, with many more to come!

We had a great surprise arriving at our final sunrise location. This hot air balloon was just taking off! We all scrambled out of the bus and followed it down to the water. The morning was a little bit cold and frosty, but it made for a great mist that lifted off the lake.

We take the group to a bunch of great photoshoot locations. This was halfway up the Remarkables mountain range where we jumped a few fences to make our way right up to the edge.

It was a beautiful morning in Glenorchy! I love it when the clouds huddle around the mountains like that.

This is one of the most famous little landmarks in the small town of Glenorchy. There is a dock here that juts out into Lake Wakatipu.

There were many beautiful mornings this past week. Here’s another one from Glenorchy where there was absolutely no wind, making for a perfect mirrored reflection.

StuckInCustoms.com is a personal blog where Trey puts up a new unique photo every day and writes about the art, the technology, and the story of the adventures. Actually, this is Trey writing about this in third person. Both Trey and I appreciate your support very much!

Reminder: The Text HDR Tutorial is Always Free!

I keep a completely FREE HDR Tutorial for Macs and a separate FREE HDR Tutorial for Windows on my website. It is a living document that continues to evolve over the years. It goes over everything you need to get started and is a great introduction to the basics of HDR photography and post processing.

Check out what you may have missed!
