The Half Hour Variety Hour Critique Show with Trey & Harriet

I fuel my creativity in many ways including podcasts, music, books, movies, and others artists. I've shared some of my recent sources of inspiration below. I begin with a personal project where my neighbor Harriet and I give feedback on images shared by members of Trey's Funky Lounge. Watching photo critiques is one my favorite ways to learn, plus we have some fun along the way. :) Be sure to subscribe to my YouTube channel to be notified of future videos!

Burning Embrace by Android Jones

Here’s a video from one of my favorite artists, Android Jones. We happened to be at the same place at the same time at Burning Man. I love his interpretation of the scene.

Kevin Rose discusses Consciousness Hacking with Tim Chang

I love listening to podcasts while one a run or a hike. One of my faves is Kevin Rose. All of his are great, but I particularly liked his discussion on "Consciousness Hacking" with Tim Chang.

Every Hipster in Portland

Man this guy John Crist cracks me up. Some of his videos about life in Texas where I grew up are spot on. This one happens to be about the hipsters in Portland and is pretty damn funny. It also reminds me of Fred Armisen's show Portlandia which is also a must watch.

Feelin' Burny Afterny

Here is a new playlist of mine on Spotify for you to enjoy. It’s made up of songs that I listen to on a lazy, relaxing afternoon at Burning Man.

I keep a completely FREE HDR Tutorial on my website. It is a living document that continues to evolve over the years. It goes over everything you need to get started and is a great introduction to the basics of HDR photography and post processing.

Here's some recent photos from StuckInCustoms.com

Social Media Influencers On A Mountain
I don’t know how I got caught up in this scene. It was my first time hanging out with supposed “Influencers.” Most of the time, I’m by myself, taking photos and wandering around for an interesting photo. These Influencers seemed obsessed with taking photos of one another, illustrating how they are experiencing nature. Many Influencers are very weird.

A Hot Day In Papua New Guinea
I only spent a week in this country, but I’m just going to go ahead and assume it’s always blazing hot. I met this tribesman and we had a hard time having a discussion. I told him I thought he looked awesome and I liked all the decor. He sort of nodded as if he understood what I was saying. And then I said he looked pretty fit and asked him if he worked out. He was a bit more confused by this question.

Fishing In Guilin
This picture is all kinds of fake, and I’m not 100% happy with myself for taking it! You know, most photographers won’t tell you this, but I will. These are not even fishermen, really. I mean, they definitely know how to fish, but they make more money now by being photo-models than fishing… so… why fish? Lots of photographers go down there to get this kind of shot, and I’m not usually one to do the same thing as every other photographer. It just doesn’t seem that original. But, I figured, hey, if I’m gonna do it, let’s see if I can make something unique in my own style. So, in that way, I’m pretty happy with the shot.

The Shuttle At Rest
I was lucky enough to go out and get really close to the space shuttle on the day before the big launch. I was so excited… just a like a little kid! I still get excited thinking about it.

Bel In The Middle
Man, these guys loved Bel. They really loved her hair. The couldn’t stop touching it and she was just giggling in her silly way. All in all, we spent about half a day in this little village. You’ll see the whole thing in an upcoming episode that we are premiering on YouTube from Africa.
