Remastering a photo of the Treetop Temple in Kyoto of Kiyomizu-Dera

This was a fun edit where you get to see me remaster a photo from Kyoto and transform it into the new version. This is the 2nd of 3 photos I am remastering for Series 2 of my Fine Art series over at TreyRatcliff.com. You can see the original and the new version over on my blog.

I originally released this video exclusively to members of Stuck in Customs Passport. If you’re enjoying Passport, or know someone who might like it, why not recommend it (or gift it!) to a friend? It’s a great present because people get new stuff every week! Think of it like a wine of the month club, except it’s weekly, and without the wine. That’s not the best sales pitch I’ve ever made.

Cool Tools with Kevin Kelly

During my 150km hike with Kevin Kelly, and a bunch of other awesome people, we took a break to record this podcast below. Kevin has a show called "Cool Tools" where he talks to people about what kind of tools they use. Enjoy! Also, if you wanna see the 360 video I did with Kevin, check this blog post!

i-BC9HNgn.jpgI visited Africa for the first time a few years ago when I held my first photography workshop in Namibia and Botswana. I didn’t know what to expect but I was absolutely blown away at the landscapes and the wildlife. It was like stepping back in time. And to see the animals, up close, in their native habitat was absolutely incredible!

In September 2019 we’ll be returning to Africa for two extraordinary photography workshops. In the first workshop we’ll spend 10 glorious nights in Botswana and Zimbabwe capturing a wide variety of exotic landscapes and wildlife, up close and personal. In the second workshop we will spend 11 nights across 6 different locations in South Africa and Madagascar! Click here to learn more and reserve your spot!

Here's some photos from my last trip to Africa

Looking down on the Deadvlei
This a truly unique place in Sossusvlei, inside the Namib-Naukluft Park in Namibia.

Flying Over the Okavango Delta
One day in Botswana, we took a rather incredible helicopter ride! It came to pick us up at our camp that was literally in the middle of nowhere. And here's the kicker — our pilot was from Wanaka, New Zealand! That's only about 45 minutes away from my home… what a strange world!

A Wine and Sunset Adventure in Cape Town
After massive immigration problems (and literally getting Stuck In Customs in Botswana), I finally made it to Cape Town. We had a ton of fun there together! On my first full day, my friend Neville had planned an amazing trip through the wine country. I went to probably one of the most awesome wineries in the world there… I've forgotten the name now. It was so good I forgot a lot, in fact. But, I didn't forget to take this sunset photo as we were leaving.

Having a ball in Namibia
When we travel, we're such an affable, fun-loving group of artists that we end up making great friends with all the staff at these resorts. I think that, often times, the guests kind of ignore that staff and just think of them as servants or something. Not us! They join in with us as much as possible and come to our after-dinner parties. This is a photo of some of the amazing crew from Namibia after they finished making an amazing breakfast on top of a mountain.

Hangry Kitty
I notice my little girls get hangry like this (hungry + angry). I do the same thing I would in these survival situations, just kind of toss meat on the ground and slowly back away.

Protecting The Kill
Here’s a rare action shot of a leopard in action! I say it’s rare because we were watching this gal lounge around for hours! They are super-lazy… but in a flash, she shot right up the tree to protect a warthog kill she had hung up there earlier when a bird of prey started circling around.

Zebras And Water Buffalos
It's nice to see these little pods of animals in such close proximity to one another. It was almost like there was some kind of animal-dropper from high above that says, “Oh, let's put 10 zebras here and 34 giraffes here and 24 elephants over there.” Over a week, you'd think you would see every possible combination, but that's just not the case. Just looking at these photos makes me want to go back again, and soon! This time I want to bring my kids since they are a little less bite-sized.
