Aurora HDR 2018 Gets a Massive (Free) Update

For the last few months the team over at Skylum has been hard at work optimizing Aurora HDR 2018 and today the fruits of their digital labor are available for everyone. This free update is Windows-centric but also includes a few goodies for Mac users.

The big news for Windows users is the introduction of batch processing (real estate photographers rejoice!) as well as additional layer functionality, white balance color picker and a slew of performance boosts. Mac users also get performance enhancements plus some funky stuff like Loupedeck integration. Both versions get full support for the latest camera models including the Panasonic DC-GX9, FujiFilm X-H1 and Sony a7 III.

Existing users can grab the latest version for FREE using the update functionality inside Aurora HDR 2018. You don't have Aurora HDR? Then head over to my online store to grab it now!

Aurora HDR Quick Tip - Enhancing the Detail in Your Images

In this video I show you how to bring out the small but important details of a photo without adding noise using an underutilized feature in Aurora HDR 2018 called HDR Details Boost. is a personal blog where Trey puts up a new unique photo every day and writes about the art, the technology, and the story of the adventures. Actually, this is Trey writing about this in third person. Both Trey and I appreciate your support very much!

Reminder: The Text HDR Tutorial is Always Free!

I keep a completely FREE HDR Tutorial on my website. It is a living document that continues to evolve over the years. It goes over everything you need to get started and is a great introduction to the basics of HDR photography and post processing.
