Daily Photo – The London Eye

This iconic building along the Thames turns out to be a little trickier to photograph than one might think. One of the most important things is to try to find a unique angle or something that’s just a little different than every other photo you’ve ever seen.

Daily Photo – The Roman Bullfighting Amphitheatre

Not too long after they cleaned up the blood from the rather inhumane bullfighting, they converted this whole place into a concert venue for Sting! We went a bit later to hear one of the coolest concerts I’ve ever experienced… that Sting… what a dude, eh?

Daily Photo – The Louvre on a Summer Day

I took this one with quite a wide-angle lens, but I like how everything is a bit warped and strange. I believe I took this back in the Nikon days with my 14-24mm lens. Man… that still is one of my favorite lenses of all time and I wish I had the equivalent on the Sony!

Passport Sunday Vanity Fair Partay!

As many of you know, I was invited by Vanity Fair and the Ritz-Carlton to do a solo show during the Oscars. A lot of work went into it, and today, if you’re a Passport Member, then you get to see some of the details behind the layout. Enjoy!

Photos from the Exhibit

Here’s a smattering of some of the photos from the big show! You’ll hear more about them in the Passport Sunday video below.

Daily Photo – London Court

Isn’t this a wicked-looking building? At first, I thought it was some kind of evil lair. Actually, I thought that the entire time I was taking the picture until I realized it was just a courthouse that has rather gothic stylings. Well maybe it is an evil lair if the judge is kinda evil.

Another Rainy Day in London

Passport Sunday goes to London

Join Passport Sunday today as you can see this cool technique for blurring out people that live in London. There’s nothing wrong with them of course, other than they are all drained by living in such a dreary city!

Daily Photo – Another Rainy Day in London

This area around the mayor’s office is one of my favorites for shooting because of all the lines and angles. It’s even better when it rains because it seems to accentuate all of these shapes.

Here is another recent Iceland Edit. These are some of the hardest rocks in the world to walk on. Also, if you lose your footing and fall, you’re going to end getting sliced into a thousand pieces because the edges are like glass. I almost went out a little further on the rock, but I figured that if I slipped and fell, no one would find my body for ages. Either way, if you’re a Passport Member, you can see the edit for that here!

Daily Photo – Popping Disney

I haven’t been to Disney in years and I’m not sure if they still let you use tripods, but I’m sure glad they did while I was there! It was kind of weird carrying it all over the park, especially when I got on rides. The operators would just let me collapse it and put it under my legs. Seems like that might be kind of a hazard but they didn’t seem to mind, so neither did I!

Oscars Party!

Vanity Fair Special for Passport Members

Today, for you cool Passport Members, you can see how I put together the proposal for this Vanity Fair / Ritz-Carlton / Conde Nast show during Oscars week. It was a lot of hard work, but I think you’ll be happy just seeing the process. I’ll make a follow-up video soon that talks more about their final shot selections, the hanging process, and other behind-the-scenes stuff!

Proposal for the Vanity Fair Exhibition

I was approached a few months before the Oscars with this opportunity. It was pretty much 100% sure they wanted to hang about ten of my photos, but which ones? There was a BIG group of people deciding, which made things quite complex and time consuming. I decided that a wide variety of choices was better than just a few. I am never quite sure what people will like… anyway, enjoy!
