Daily Photo – The Lonely Road in Montana

I took this one when I was out on a dinosaur dig with Jack Horner. One day we jumped on some quad bikes and just kind of rode off into the wild. I had my son Ethan on mine, and it was his first time. His mind was totally blown away! We took a break to jump off and take a photo just at the perfect time.

I was happy to be sitting on a few photos from Montana that I had yet to edit. Pulling a few different brackets from this magical place seemed like the perfect way to experiment with the different settings I alluded to above.

Daily Photo – Standing Guard in Rabat

Here’s a photo I just finished and I really like the way it turned out. I was in Rabat, Morocco, and visited this tomb just as it opened. There was almost no one around, and I gave the “international signal” asking if it was okay to take his photo. He gave me a mustachioed nod, so I took a quick one. Believe it or not, I spelled mustachioed correctly the first time… I was waiting for the red squiggly.

If you’ve seen my previous tutorials on textures, then you know how it can be a bit daunting to use these with Photoshop. I think when you use Luminar that things are about 100x easier because of the interface. In the video, I show three levels of expertise. I start with fairly basic stuff that anyone can easily understand and then I ramp it up to the next few levels if you want to try some more advanced techniques.

Passport Sunday Fun

In today’s Passport Sunday video, you’ll see some of the behind-the-scenes that went into the creation of a new work I did for a celebrity in Hollywood. It was a mammoth project that took about half a year. The final photo is a deconstructed panorama made out of 54 different photos. I hope you enjoy!
