Wet Cleaning - Daily Laundry Chores in Mumbai

Thousands upon thousands of clothes get washed every day from dawn until dusk in this sea of pools, cleaning, sweat, and toil.  I had a great time walking around down inside getting some up close and personal shots, all of which I lost in a tragic memory card confusion problem on the causeway.

The area is known as Dhobhi Ghat. Dhobhi means laundromat or something similar.
Do not know how many more years it is going to be around. All the large properties around Bombay are being acquired and re-developed.

I’ve been there, it’s an amazing sight to behold. My photos never did it justice, but yours… well, let’s just say I could practically smell India again!
