WebWars: EVE - The Game Art
I am here in Iceland at the EVE Fan Fest after braving three security screenings at various airports. It occurs to me that since the government took over airport security that we get the efficiency of the Post Office combined with the attitude of the IRS.
Anyway, we announced WebWars: EVE today at noon. The room was overflowing with people and it got a great response. It’s a completely unexpected and very fun game. These EVE players (of which, I am one) are some of the most intense and hardcore players in the world, so it was good to get such a positive reaction.
WebWars: EVE is a battle across the internet where you conquer territory and control territory, but in this case, the territory is Websites! So the most valuable sites to own are Google.com, Facebook.com, Youtube.com, and the like. You send in your battleships, cruisers, and frigates to conquer the sites, earn income based on how popular the site is, then use that income to go conquer more websites!
Here is some of the game art I showed today. If you want more info on the game or to sign up for the beta, come to www.webwars.com!
This first one is the battle for Google.com. You can see there are multiple attackers and defenders and six kinds of ships on each side.
This second shot is from the Space Station page. It is like your homebase where you can keep track of what websites you own, what your friends are doing in the newsfeed, leave comments on your friend’s pages, and the like.
This final shot is what the plugin looks like when it is in normal mode. You can just surf the internet like normal with your browser, or at any time, you can click ATTACK and begin a galactic battle for dominance!

WebWars: EVE looks very much like an idea I hade many yeras ago but never had the time to pursue. What bodily limb would I have to sacrifice to be part of this beta (registering has done nothing for me so far)?
The site has very little info about the game, where can I find more juicy stuff?
