Skull Head from Rome

This is an extremely detailed mosaic that was uncovered in Pompeii and now resides in the Museum of Archeology in Naples. I am pretty sure this is the same skull that inspired the beginning of that show Rome on HBO, which is really a good show, by the way.

    The image was also used in a silent film from 1924 called “Michael”. In the film they made a reference to Brutus & Julius Ceasar while looking at the image. What a coincidence!
    (Rome is a very well done show.)

    Also used for the album cover of the remastered version of Live in Pompeii by Pink Floyd.
